Not had a lot of chances but smart effort in the circumstances in well-contested 7f event here a year ago considering she subsequently confirmed she's better at shorter (even if luck not always been on her side); showed she'd trained on with good return at Newmarket in May and has a very big run in her.

Brought along patiently by Hughie Morrison and reaping dividends this season, unlucky in running at Salisbury on reappearance and two fine races in defeat for new trainer since, in the Wokingham and when only just losing out over 7f in the Bunbury Cup; solid marker and thereabouts.

Recaptured best in the nick of time to win this race last year; come to hand earlier this season and strong suggestion he's improved again since, first home on his side in the Wokingham and always had the situation under control when successful at Haydock latest in first-time blinkers; 10lb higher than a year ago but suspect a bit more up his sleeve yet and solid to go well with visor on this time.

Only one win from 12 runs since back from an absence in 2010 and doubt the form of his C&D third in May would put him in the picture here but more encouraging run in the Wokingham and return to a breakneck pace could easily suit; well handicapped and has a shout.

Been cleverly campaigned but his Wokingham run suggested either his quiet improvement has come to an end or he was a shade under par; either way still possible to put him in the handicapping mix and might be seen to even better advantage if challenge delayed longer.

Spotlight :
No more than a decent second-division sprinter in 2009 but different story this year and if it hadn't been for the plunge horse Laddies Poker Two he'd have won the Wokingham on merit; form claims off 5lb higher but not always looked comfortable galloping downhill (though went off too fast here 12 months ago) and slight question mark about whether the track will be ideal.

Been threatening to make up into decent handicapper and things went better for him than some of his rivals at Newcastle latest when getting to the fast strip against the rail and making best of his way home; up 9lb and going to be far less straightforward here.

Not do much more than win in his turn his early handicapping days but made excellent progress this year and revealed extent of it when picking up decent 7f Ascot handicap on Saturday; never raced downhill and have to see how he adapts to this different tempo but in such good form could see him being very dangerous despite the penalty.

Rather low key in 2010 but came home strongly to lead his group home on the far side here a year ago and went on to run well in the Ayr Gold Cup; perhaps not the scope for improvement of some of these but well handicapped and a decent outsider who wouldn't mind rain.

Cracking old sprinter who has a marvellous record in the Wokingham, Stewards' Cup and Ayr Gold Cup, placed six times from last nine attempts; however has never won one and chances are it's too late in the day for him to do so now, though Wokingham fourth last month showed he still has a place in him.

Improved for new trainer in 2009 and fairly cosy winner of the supporting sprint at this meeting last year; returned in high force over 5f at York in May and wise to overlook two subsequent runs with this race likely the year's main aim; possibilities but taking on much tougher opposition.

Decent sprinter for new yard though not completely got it right on turf so far; Jamie Spencer replaced today's 7lb claimer (goes well for him) and useful effort in 6f Newbury Group 3 latest but goes a great gallop and not convinced he'll see out a strongly run race at this trip as well as some.

Didn't run well here last year, only time he's run on the track, but capable sprinter at this level and Frankie Dettori coaxed sustained late run out of him to win the Ayr Gold Cup last autumn; today's promising apprentice could get a good tune out of him and wouldn't rule out good run with blinkers replacing usual cheekpieces.

Classy performer to be running off this mark but had some drastic off days in 2009 and offputting he didn't do better on his reappearance in May (in first-time tongue-tie) as he goes well fresh; more talented than most though and worth considering with blinkers fitted.
