Admittedly he saw the 1m trip out well both times and may not be crying out for a return to shorter but this stiff test at the distance should be fine, along with a likely decent pace in this big field. However, preference is for GARSWOOD, who has the best piece of 7f form on offer, namely his impressive success in the Free Handicap on his sole attempt at the distance. Things didn't go his way in the 2,000 Guineas next time and he's worth another chance. AL KAZEEM (nap) has shrugged off injury to return better than ever this season and, on his defeat of Camelot in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at the Curragh last time, is very much the one to beat. Al Kazeem's progressive profile suggests there may be more to come now too. Camelot may well progress as the season goes on though and is readily preferred as the main danger, with Red Cadeaux the pick of those at bigger prices and taken to claim third, ahead of The Fugue. The more reliable pace seems to be among the high numbers, particularly with Spa's Dancer who has serious each-way claims, and this will be a boost to the chance of DIRECTORSHIP who can unleash an impressive late burst from off the pace and is in the form of his life. Field Of Dream, with the blinkers restored, is likely to arrive on the scene even later but overdid the slow start when fourth in this 12 months ago. Last year's first Prince Of Johanne, second Excellent Guest and third Don't Call Me all return in good form, with Prince Of Johanne on the same mark as last year and therefore definitely on the shortlist. There are plenty of unexposed/progressive alternatives who are already proven on a sound surface, with fellow Listed winner RIZEENA particularly appealing.
