Very in and out across his first five chase runs last season, being pulled up twice, but he won on the other three occasions (3m1f/3m2f, heavy/good to soft), including at Fontwell in April when last seen; came clear with an improving runner-up last time and a 4lb rise could prove lenient.
Went close in the Eider at Newcastle (4m1f, heavy) in February and handles a variety of ground; he may have needed last month's reappearance run at Carlisle but was beaten a long way and needs to be an entirely different proposition this afternoon; 2lb out of the handicap.
