Djelo
Two Grade 2 wins last season on soft ground included this race and a defeat of Hitman at Newbury (2m7f); that campaign ended disappointingly (in Grade 1s) but he was back on song when defying a penalty in the Charlie Hall at Wetherby (3m, good); that performance was all the more noteworthy given the stable's slow start to the season and he's probably even better going right handed.

Hitman
Modest strike-rate for one of his ability but has run any number of good races in defeat and he had another day in the sun when running out a 2l winner of the Old Roan at Aintree on his return (2m4f, good to soft; Boombawn fourth); won't be a million miles away if he's in the same form.

Saint Sam
Free-going front runner who is 6-15 over fences and ran right up to his best when last seen at Fairyhouse in April (2m4f, soft to heavy; fine on all ground), pushing recent Grade 2 winner Found A Fifty close despite a costly late mistake; hugely respected on a track that should play to his strengths.

Boombawn
Grade 2-winning novice at this trip and held his own in a Grade 1 at last season's Grand National meeting; looked a bit rusty when just over 4l behind Hitman on these terms at Aintree and it wouldn't be a surprise to see him reverse those placings and have some say in the finish.

Edwardstone
An 11yo who has lost some of his old zip and he was found wanting on his return in the 2m Shloer Chase at Cheltenham; may need this longer trip now but he's not as good as he was and has won only one of his last 16 races.
