He's on a hat-trick in this race and followed last year's win by also scoring at Windsor and Yarmouth (all 5f on good to firm in cheekpieces) in August; no wins since but he didn't get much cover when midfield over C&D one week ago and his race record means he can't be discounted; also ran well sole previous go in a visor.
Both wins came on AW but he's fine on turf and it was a career best on turf when second of nine here (6f, good to firm) four weeks ago; might have been flattered by bagging the near rail that day but he won his only previous start at 5f and can't be dismissed.
Six wins, all at 5f, include five on turf, most recently when making a winning reappearance at Nottingham (good) in April; slight concern that his sole run here was his worst but he's won off this mark and looks a player.
Three wins include a successful stable debut at Brighton (5.5f, good to firm) and he wasn't beaten far under a penalty when fourth of five at Lingfield (5f, AW) three weeks ago; career-high mark but he's respected.
Ran out of puff having lost a shoe at Windsor on his comeback last month and he again faded having attempted to make all over C&D (good to firm) 19 days later; becoming attractively handicapped, however, and could be building up to something bigger.
Started well for this yard but the wheels have come off lately, finishing last over C&D one month ago then finishing tailed off on AW last Monday; not easy to suggest after that.
Good run of form in the spring included successive wins on AW in April and solid second on turf (also 6f wearing eye-shields) in May; not so good subsequently and he couldn't justify a strong market move back on AW a fortnight ago; bit to prove on this drop back to 5f but last time was a step back in the right direction.
0-13 and he hasn't suggested he's about to cash in on a reduced mark, including when sixth of ten at Carlisle (7f) last Thursday; he's never gone closer than when a neck second at Musselburgh last August on his sole start at 5f, however, which could be a straw to clutch to.
