Back On The Lash
Emerged from long spell in the doldrums when third from 18lb out of the weights in cross-country chase at Cheltenham (3m5f, good) in November; his last significant form over conventional fences was in 2022 but it wasn't his fault when he unseated (bumped) at Kelso on latest outing; that was his first run down in Class 4 since 2019; cheekpieces (tried once last March, tailed off) return.

Two chase wins (one C&D) in very small fields in 2022; not so hot in a light career since but down the weights and not totally dismissed.

Last season's two wins were on heavy going; he was fine on better ground before that, but pulled up last May on final start for previous yard and has not shown enough in two starts this winter.

9-30 over fences; refused to line up for intended reappearance in early December but made most for a wide-margin win in amateurs' event at Kelso (3m2f, good to soft) three weeks later, despite repeatedly jumping out to his right; back up 6lb and his record in 2023 and 2024 dents confidence in a repeat, but he has a 2-3 record at Catterick and this looks a weak race.

Mister Bells
Easily won this race (soft) last year off the same mark as today; there was encouragement in his race before that running but it's a concern that he showed so little in his two starts this season.

Siberian Star
Only 1-8 in points and 2-43 under rules (hurdle/chase winner); the last time he raced over fences under rules was May 2022 in his Irish days but he has been reasonably competitive in hurdle races this winter and moves back up in trip on this return to chasing; one to consider.
