Won twice for the Newland/Insole stable in the autumn of 2024 and ran his best race for this yard when second of eight at Uttoxeter (2m, soft) 17 days ago; back up 2lb, but still shortlisted for stable that has won this race twice since 2017.
Five wins over hurdles for Donald McCain and 3lb lower than for his latest success, which came here (2m5f, good) in June last year; last three efforts for his new yard leave something to be desired, though, and he will need to have derived benefit from a second wind op.
Made all for a comfortable success in a Warwick maiden (2m3f, good) in May but was pulled up on his handicap debut at Uttoxeter in October next time; hung badly right in the latter, so going this way round may help, but he still has a bit to prove.
Won first two hurdle races in May but something of a contrast lately, falling at Ludlow when still in with a shout but modest efforts either side; could bounce back, but her recent tendency to jump/hang left would be a concern on this track; stable also runs Ghasham.
Bumper/hurdle winner in France in the autumn of 2022 but pulled up in both starts over hurdles since returning for this yard in January; last month's wind surgery will need to make a big difference.
Consistent this year over hurdles and on the Flat, beaten under a length into third of 11 on stable debut at Sedgefield (2m4f, soft) last time; up 3lb but the slight drop in trip should suit; high on the list.
Placed over 2m4f at Worcester in two of his three starts for this yard; strike-rate is not the best but he can't be ruled out, especially if benefiting from the wind surgery since latest outing.
Improving steadily and did well to get up and break his duck at Southwell (2m, good to soft) last month; 7lb higher and the hood worn on last two outings is missing, but he shaped last time as though returning to further would suit and he remains open to improvement; respected.
Promise in a bumper and a hurdle race in his first two starts but last three efforts have been disappointing, including on handicap debut; something to prove.
