Two Grade 2 wins over about 3m on testing ground in the 2023-24 campaign; there was only one performance of a similar calibre last season, however, and he fell early on reappearance four weeks ago; this is a rare run these days away from Graded events but there have to be some doubts.

Smart in his pomp; however, pulled up on five of his last six appearances (despite wind operations) and one of those was in this race last year on his only hurdle start since 2023; cheekpieces (tried once, pulled up) return.

Had a largely superb campaign over about 3m as a hurdler last season; has run respectably this term, despite not really taking to chasing on last two outings (pulled up after sprawling badly two out last time); handicapped up to his best but should be of renewed interest back over hurdles.

Did well at 2m3f-2m5f when reverting to hurdles for last three starts last season; comeback at Cheltenham (2m4f) in October was satisfactory and he was not entirely disgraced at Newbury on latest outing, albeit struggling before stamina at 3m became an issue; others have more pressing claims.

Fifth in this last year in latest hurdle race; won at Exeter (3m, heavy) and second at Fontwell (3m2f, good to soft) in first two attempts as a chaser; flop at Ascot five weeks ago was not due to the 3m5f, so he reverts to hurdling today and is well treated if initial chase form is transferred.

Pulled up in this last term; last won in April 2024 and his most competitive displays since were in the spring this year, all at about 2m4f; tailed off on return from a summer break, then below form (with his usual tongue-tie removed) on latest start, and this fifth attempt at about 3m gives him even more to prove.

Maiden prior to completing a hat-trick this term for new stable, scoring readily at Ascot (upped to 3m, good to soft; handicap debut) on latest outing; second of those wins was under Freddie Keighley; up 8lb but on a roll and open to further improvement; no shock if he scores again.

Won seven point-to-points in a row before returning to hurdles with a handicap win by short head at Newton Abbot (2m5f, good to soft) in October; good fourth of 18 at Cheltenham (2m5f, soft) since, never nearer and giving encouragement for 3m; 4lb out of the handicap but considered each-way.

Ended last season winning a maiden at Market Rasen (extended 2m4f, good to soft) and handicap debut at Newton Abbot (3m3f, heavy); he was rather handed the latter race, when clear leader faltered at the final flight; this 7yo is more lightly raced than most of today's rivals and brings potential as a stayer, but he's also 4lb out of the handicap for this reappearance.
