Leeward
Well-bred son of Frankel; couple of respectable maiden runs; only 15-2 for handicap debut over 1m4f at Limerick, a race won easily by stablemate and favourite; dropped out from a bad draw and couldn't go on after making a bit of headway early in the straight; blinkers.

No worries about the trip for this stoutly-bred filly; best of three handicap runs was front-running fourth over 1m4f at Cork in April; winner has gone in again twice and third won maiden next time; was given a break after Roscommon fifth in May.

Quiet in maidens and unable to land a blow when 50s for 1m4f handicap at Limerick; still early days for Snellen's half-brother; dam was 1m4f winner and is half-sister to dam of King George winner Novellist, so no surprise they're giving him another go over a trip.

Showed ability in a Galway maiden last year when with Mick Mulvany; well backed into joint-favouritism for return at Fairyhouse, but didn't feature; off the bridle 3f out when okay fifth here over 10.5f (soft); had a wide trip from a bad draw when fourth over 1m3f at Naas and reckon he's on a good mark now; not bred to stay, but might.

Had fair AW form in headgear for Charlie Johnston during the winter, winning over 1m2f and runner-up over 1m4f; better on third Irish start when fourth against older rivals at Fairyhouse (1m2f); starting to stay on from rear when carried wide on the home bend at Ballinrobe; stepping back up in trip might help and can lead.

Flopped when 3-1 for seasonal/handicap debut at Sligo in May; it was probably soft ground, rather than this trip, which proved his undoing because (having been gelded and given a break) he ran much better over 1m3f at Killarney on Monday; looked slow but kept plugging away, and gets another change of headgear now.

Twice made the frame in soft-ground 7f Gowran handicaps in the spring; finished well when fourth against older horses over 1m1f on fast ground at Leopardstown, but bombed over 1m3f at Naas last time; yet to string two good runs together and trip is a big question mark.
